Police release image of person they want to trace after women indecently touched by ‘lost’ man

Police are searching for a man who tells young women he is lost before indecently touching them.

Six women, who are all in their 20s, have told police the man approached them in the street in Leicester and asked them for directions.

He then indecently touched them.

The incidents happened between Monday and Wednesday, July 18 and 27 in St George’s Way, Regent Road, Magazine Square, Market Street, Belvoir Street and Walnut Street.

Today, Leicestershire Police released images of a man officers would like to trace.

A force spokeswoman said it had received six complaints but said further incidents might not have been reported.

Police want to trace this man.

In a statement, the force said: “We would like to speak to this man in connection with several incidents of indecent assaults in the city – we believe he may be able to help with our inquiries.

“We are investigating a number of incidents where a male approached women on their own and asked for directions.

“He then touched them inappropriately.

“Are you the man in the image? Do you know who he is?

“Please contact us as we think you may be able to help us.”
